Challenge
The customer had been working on developing their own B2B e-commerce platform for some time. However, the project was plagued by uncertainty and slow progress. The e-commerce solution was intended to support a new sales model that focused on dedicating more time to larger, more profitable customers, while allowing smaller customers to handle much of their purchasing independently through an online portal.
Assignment
By establishing a clearer view of the project’s current status, the customer was able to focus more effectively. This was achieved by aligning on which areas of the project—such as product, pricing, and order flow—should be addressed and when. The updated approach was anchored both internally and with external vendors.
Result
Step by step, the front-end of the new e-commerce solution was developed, with a focus on functionality and look & feel, alongside insights into the data and processes that would be required. With this foundation in place, the right conditions were created to develop a back-end solution and secure a successful launch.
